Guest guest
We had a " natural " pest control come to our house to get rid of ants and spiders. They used orange wax and it sure did the job. Worked for 2 years. Can you share what they did?? I have plenty of Orange wax! (And spiders and stuff!) Guest guest
Does anyone have any experience with this product? There is a lot of info on it at their website, www.orangeguard.com. I am wondering if orange eo is really an effective repellant, and if so, has anyone tried making it? Guest guest
If you chek this list's archives, I believe you will see similar comments regarding the value of Peppermint Oil and its application, especially as a Tick remedy. I believe it was mentioned as being effective for ants as well. Confuses the scent " trail " ants follow. Ticks will supposedly back out upon contact with Pmint. --- jenn <jennsbellamiaskin wrote: > Hi Debra: > We had a " natural " pest control come to our house to > get rid of ants and > spiders. Guest guest
Hi Neysa: They simply stuck these tiny little aluminum looking boxes to the wall or floor boards with the orange wax in them and left, LOL. Such a huge job for hundreds of dollars, huh ? I " did " ask the guy what it was he was using and he told me it was an orange wax and that it kills them really well and he was sure right. I use it here now. We have tons of black widows here because of the forest so I use it all the time. Now it's the never ending supply of orange wax for me. Try it and see if it works for you. It smelled strong too. HTH, Jenn - " Neysa Dormish " <neysa Monday, September 19, 2005 8:45 AM Re: orange guard > Can you share what they did?? I have plenty of Orange wax! Guest guest
Yes, this is very true Carol. I've used and still use peppermint all the time. This was way back a few years ago when we decided to go as natural as we could and before I was into this business. What is this all about?! LOL I can't find the original post, for some reason. I have a lot of " orange peel " wax I got from Tracy in the co-op buy. I's rather liquidy/syrupy. I'm using it tinctured or diluted in small quantities in some perfumes, trying it out as a fixative. Arctander says it's a good fixative for the more expensive floral essences, like jasmine, fragipani, etc. It's a bug killer, too? http://naturalperfumery.com The premier site on the Web to discover the beauty of Natural Perfume " The Age of the Foodie is passé. Guest guest
It was about killing ants and spiders with orange wax from a " Natural " pest control company I used to use. Now, I just use the orange wax myself. Jenn - " rastapoodle " <mccoy Tuesday, September 20, 2005 11:26 AM Re: orange guard > > What is this all about?! Guest guest
Hi Jenn, What kind of wax is used. --- jenn <jennsbellamiaskin wrote: > It was about killing ants and spiders with orange > wax from a " Natural " pest > control company I used to use. Guest guest
Hi Carol: Just regular old orange wax. I bought mine some time ago, like years, and it takes very little. Just do a search for Orange Wax and you should find a lot of links for it. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can find some for you. Can't even remember where I got mine now, LOL. Guest guest
Hi Jenn, Thanks for your most kind offer. I've since looked at the info on the web. Seems that one could use Bee or Soy wax with some Orange or Pmint Oil instead. This may sound odd, but I don't like " killing " ants. When I consider the ridiculous, Giants (human beings) purchasing highly toxic insecticides in Home Depot to kill these minute, innocuous creatures when simple solutions like borax, Orange Wax will deter their foraging into a homestead, I amazed that they don't realize they are essentially poisining themselves. best regards, --- jenn <jennsbellamiaskin wrote: > Hi Carol: > Just regular old orange wax.
