Guest guest
I'm sending 2 posts, so those who arn't on digest can hit 'delete' about my next post, if they don't want info on obgyn stuff...<grin> Josh, to answer your question on shampoos, first, I make a plain, unscented bar of soap just for the shampoo. I'ts formulated for it's moistruizing properties. After this has cut and dried a week or so (I do hp soaping) I grate it up, and depending on how large a batch of shampoo I'm making, measure out the ounces I need. To this, I add additional conditioning agents--some very specialized. If I'm formulating the shampoo for excema sufferers, etc...there's specialized additives (these are all natural) which are for skin/skalp conditions. Then, I like to use a rheology modifier, like crothix, to get the thickness I want. Of course, I add a good preservative as well, and scent. HTH... There's a vast amount of information online about ingredients for shampoos and skin care--and some companies supply large enough samples of product to get you started and going for quite a while--I'm sure I'll about faint from 'sticker shock' once it's time to actually order some of the products I've been sampling! goody
