This is RJ, from http://www.HerbalSoapsbyRJ.com. My BIL Danny is in liver

failure & the only chance he has of survival is if we can raise the money for a

liver transplant. When we reach $30,000 (10% of the total amount we need to

raise) he will be put on the transplant list. Suzanne (a member of our Soapin'

List) & Danny have three sons, Daniel, 16, Andrew, 9 and Joseph, 6. Daniel

recently asked his mom,Suzanne, what they would do if Daddy died. Please help us

by making a donation, no matter how small. Every dollar is a dollar closer to

life for Danny. Below is an article run in the Gilmer County Newspaper, The

Times Courier, about a fundraiser in October in Ellijay, Ga. If you are in that

area, I hope you can attend! I'll be there for the entire day, and we would

Soft spoken Danny Laukka has known since July that his life depends on the

residents of Gilmer County — literally. Laukka needs a liver transplant.When

he

and his wife Susanne found out the operation would be necessary, she says, “we

figured we were going to need some help.â€Indeed, help is essential because,

according to Suzanne, costs for the operation often exceed $300,000.At the time

of his diagnosis, in July, doctors projected that Danny has about a year

before he must have a new liver, barring unforeseen health problems. One doctor,

says Susanne, told her if she and Danny were going to do any fund raising, they

would need to start right away.Instead of despairing over this news, the

couple took it as an opportunity. They treat the year-long projection as a

timeline for how long they have to raise money for Danny’s operation.Susanne

describes herself and her husband as hardworking people, and they seem

determined to

succeed in their endeavor to collect enough donations to offset the cost of

Danny’s medical bills.Susanne has already organized a fund raiser with the

help

of the WNSY radio station, or Sunny 100, staff. The benefit will take place on

October 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Susanne’s pet shop, located in the Gilmer

Shopping Center in Ellijay.There will be yard sale and baked sale items, as

well as hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones available, says Susanne.

All proceeds will go toward Danny’s medical bills.The Laukkas are already

seeing a wave of support from the community. “People have been just wonderful

and

generous,†says Susanne.
