Guest guest Posted September 2, 2005 Report Share Posted September 2, 2005 Sharon, It' s the juice inside the stem of the jewelweed that is the antidote to poison ivy. Take a glass jar and fill it with juicy stems that you give a twist to release their bounty and cover it with vinegar, let sit. It's that easy. I would not make a cream, for that could spread the PI, the vinegar is drying, best of all, it works !!!!!! You can also freeze stems to have some on hand. My friend Keewaydenoqua also made a light tea from it for people who have it systemically, but I do not know the proportions, she is not around to ask any more and overall jewelweed is not one of those herbs to be taken internally.
