Guest guest
Thank you Chris. I totally agree!! All of my family (my Dad is one of 13 children, my Mom one of three, my husband's Dad is one of 7, his Mom one of 9 + 100's of cousins), they all live in LA. We have found most of them but my Dad's oldest brother and his wife are missing. We should all be concentrating on PRAYING for the quickest recovery and healing possible and to help in any way we can. I have a house full of family and more are coming tomorrow. We are truly blessed that my immediate family is alive and although they have damage to their homes, they can probably be salvaged (although a couple of them have no insurance). My aunts, (one who is mentally challenged) lived on Grand Isle and probably won't be able to go home till after Christmas, if then. What we are seeing in New Orleans and the rest of the gulf coast is tragic, but that is just a smidgeon of the devastation that goes on for thousands of miles. Those of us not directly affected by this storm should be mindful to appreciate everything that we have...dry safe homes, food, water, a toilet and shower, toothpaste and SOAP. Kiss and hug your friends and loved ones and Thank God they are there to do so. Thank you to everyone on this list for your prayers and especially those of you who have called or e-mailed asking how you can help. I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. Blessings, Ro _____ Hi folks, I'm going to stop this before it even starts. I understand that MANY people here have VERY strong feelings about this in one way or another, but here now is not the forum to air them. The only strong feelings I want to hear about this catastrophe is what individuals are doing to help or if they know how others can help .. I of course also don't mind the posts by folks saying they are praying for a missing person or that they are very thankful that a person they love was found (hopefully nobody has lost loved ones for good), and stuff like that .... But anyone who wants to engage in political talk about this can go to appropriate blog sites. Pick your slant, you'll find the conversations you want to hear - or go to the other side and you'll find the fight you're looking for As far as I see it at the moment posts like this can easily be seen as inflammatory at a time when we should be focusing on how to help in a NATURAL DISASTER rather than making slanted political/emotional arguments that only turn people off and divert attention from the immediate task at hand. Thank you all for understanding and respecting my position on this. *Smile* Chris
