Guest guest
Hmmm well maybe thats what I am doing wrong, I have been covering the (dried) hawthorn leaves/berries with vodka, no water. I thought it had to be all vodka anne Same as any ol' tincture made by this rank amateur. Pick and clean herbs, put into glass jar, cover with half Smirnoff Blue Label and half water for a 25% alcohol tinc, let sit in a dark cupboard, give it a shake and a spot of Reiki or prayer(optional) whenever you remember. I thought it had to be all vodka anne There is nothing wrong with using just vodka! When I can afford it I do that too. But the standard amount of alcohol in a tincture is 25% and water is cheap. But I didn't use leaves, just berries. I would tincture leaves and blossoms separately from berries. The leaves probably need a shorter time. Just going but guess here! I really do need a herbalist course... Ien in the Kootenays ******************************* Stop. Breathe.
