Guest guest
Yea Yea, I know I am wayyyy behind on digest still......but I have a wart of some sort on my little toe It started 10-12 years ago when I wore high heels to work everyday and I have not been able to get rid of it. Hubby cuts away at some of the extra growth of dead like skin, but there is always a little *seed* looking thing that is impossible for him to get out without me going into hysterics! LOL It truly feels as if it is a nerve ending! Since this isn't on the bottom of my foot, then I guess I am looking at something other than a Plantar's wart then? At the time, the insurance I had did not pay for visits to a podiatrist, and my regular doc wouldn't do anything for them. He insisted that I go to a podiatrist. Well, having two small children, and not enough money...I opted to remove them myself. <wink> Now, I will tell you what *I* did, but this information is not a diagnosis, nor a recommendation that you do what I did. I cannot be held responsible if you decide to do this. <big wink> I soaked my foot in warm water, mixed with a small amount of bleach. Regular Clorox kind. This loosened the thickened skin, and allowed me to trim the skin away easier. Take a rough bristled nail brush, or toothbrush, and scrub at the wart. This will open up the skin further, allowing you to get to the 'seed'. (Now this may actually take several days to several weeks to actually get these all out) After cutting away what I could, I used tweezers to pull the 'seeds'. Sometimes I could get them all out, sometimes just pieces. Clean the area well with isopropyl alcohol, to make sure you don't have any germs in there. WARNING! These areas will bleed when you start pulling the 'seed' out. Don't be too alarmed. Anyway, after I'd done all I could at the time, I'd clean well, put a bit of Neosporin on the spot, and cover with a bandage. Then I would wait a day or two to let the soreness go away, and then do it all over again. I removed every one of the warts I had within just a few weeks. It's been over 10 years, and they've never come back. It's not a comfortable process, but it works. I actually just did this on a wart that I had in the palm of my hand a few days ago. I still have a small spot, and I will have to do it again to remove the rest of the wart, but I know it will go away as well. You just have to make sure you get all of that little 'seed' out. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth. Candy -- Version: 7.0.338 / Virus Database: 267.10.16/83 - Release 8/26/2005
