Guest guest
A doctor here, after trying all the prescribed methods that didnl't work, said to put a piece of duct tape over the affected area and leave it for a few days, be sure to only cover the wart as it kills the skin around it as well, it worked, pulled the whole thing out. --- Butch Owen <butchbsi wrote: > I'm not a doctor but I am surprised to hear this and > I believe it is not > correct information .. perhaps she misunderstood. > There is very much > information on Plantar Warts about .. like the > below. Guest guest
Hi Alison, > Hi everyone, > I have a client with a couple of plantar warts, apparently her doctor > told her the root had grown down into the bone so he couldn't do anything > about them. I'm not a doctor but I am surprised to hear this and I believe it is not correct information .. perhaps she misunderstood. There is very much information on Plantar Warts about .. like the below. I hope one of the medical types on the list will comment. One particular site states that this is not true information .. here: http://www.podiatrynetwork.com/document_disorders2.cfm?ID=112 It writes (in part): " A common misconception is that plantar warts have seeds or roots that grow through the skin and can attach to the bone. The wart may appear to have a root or seeds, but these are in fact small clusters of the wart just beneath the top layer of the skin. The wart cannot live in any tissue except the skin. " Many other sites touch on it .. these are but a few of the many. http://www.podiatrychannel.com/plantarwarts/ http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/fact/thr_report.cfm?Thread_ID=225 & topcategory=Foot http://www.skinsite.com/info_plantar_warts.htm http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic641.htm > I seem to remember a discussion about oregeno oil and plantar warts a > couple of years ago?, does anyone know if it might help in this situation? There has been much discussion in this regard .. I know of many people who claim to have been cured of Plantar Warts by using Origanum vulgare. One man (Gary Bourbonais) came out on two different sites with such a claim .. I have his permission to repeat it .. and Gary is not a BS artist who would report hearsay as being personal experience. > They are causing her so much pain that she is willing to try almost > anything to get relief as she is on her feet all day. Again .. I think she might have misunderstood the doctor .. if she did not misunderstand him .. then she should go to another doctor .. better one specializing in Podiatry. > Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have. Guest guest
I asked this question before and there are quite a few different answers in the archives of this group. There were quite a few who said duct tape. At least one said, to cut a banana peel in a small square and tape that on it. So my friend, combined the two and stuck the banana peel under the duct tape. Not quite sure which one was more beneficial but it worked wonders. Guest guest
Yep Butch it is true. Check out the other posts on it and the google search. What makes me a bit angry is why, if the doctor knew it worked, did he use all the high priced techniques first. Guess that is just the way of Allopathic Medicine. Guest guest
I used to get plantar warts all the time then one of my friends mother said that her dr. prescribed Dessicated cod liver tablets.. Stink to high heaven... but it gets rid of the virus that causes them completely... and I only had to take it for 2 weeks and I've never had another one... before I started taking it I had about one every 2-3 months pop up... and it was getting expensive to have them cut out... Guest guest
Hi Jennifer: Aren't planter warts a kind of fungus with spores ? Hmmm, maybe that would work on the toenail fungus too. I've been battling that one with Vicks and it is working but something internal would be great, especially if it is all natural. Thank you for posting that information ! I think I'll give it a go, sure couldn't hurt anything, right ? Guest guest
A plantar wart is just a regular wart that happens to be on the sole of the foot, also called the plantar surface. Since pressure follows the wart inwards it appears to be going deeper. Warts are caused by viruses. Toenail fungus is a whole different thing. Tip from the newsletter of Chet Day: Cure your toenail fungus by.....are we ready? PISSING on them! If that is too much, try anti-fungal oils and herbs applied topically. Always keeping in mind that one person's miracle cure can be another person's dud. I had one story of a gentleman getting rid of a fungus that he picked up in the Korean war by applying Sangre de Drago. Imagine normal toenails after 50 years! So I got a friend to use it and it hasn't done much for her. You just never know. Sangre de Drago is worth a try because it has so many other uses anyhow. After all we are both Canadian. It comes to my mind what I do. I choose that which I am told at the time to give. Each time it is a different course of action for each individual. We sometimes forget each person is made up from different, ingredients...hehehe for lack of a better word. What we add to them will help or not help. But like everything else in this world there is no one thing that is a cure all for all the people all the time. Hope that makes sense. Guest guest
Ien: I had responded to about 2 or 3 of your posts because they got me thinking. With that one I was agreeing with you. Sorry for the confusion. Barbara
