Guest guest
Hi, As an RN, I've had the opportunity to care for several people locally who now have severe medical problems due to Phen Fen. My first thought when I read your email, was: Phen Fen! Maybe I'm wrong, but it's worth checking out. Please check out this link: http://www.lifelinecd.com/demo/llcd/adam/articles/000169.htm Some of the statements at this site are as follows: Another important risk factor for tricuspid regurgitation is use of the diet medications called " Phen- fen " (phentermine and fenfluramine) or dexfenfluramine Symptoms: In the absence of high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension), tricuspid regurgitation is usually asymptomatic. If pulmonary hypertension and moderate-to-severe tricuspid regurgitation coexist, symptoms may include: active neck vein pulsations swelling of the abdomen swelling of the feet and ankles fatigue, tiredness weakness decreased urine output generalized swelling Signs and tests: When gently pressing with the hand (palpation) on the chest, there may be a lift produced by the beating of the enlarged right ventricle. Similarly, there may be a pulsation over the liver. The liver and spleen may be enlarged. This is worth checking into. Maybe your health issues have been caused by something else, but please, because you did take Phen Fen, do have your doctor evaluate you for Tricuspid Regurgitation or other cardiac/respiratory problems related to use of Phen Fen. Also, pulmonary hypertension is another frequent problem that's cropped up.
