Guest guest
Hi y'all, A repeat .. but with a couple of changes. ;-) Butch Chris is now putting together something for my site .. a study on the effects of Rose Otto and lowering blood pressure .. its pretty amazing how quickly it can be accomplished by just sniffing the oil. As many of you know .. the Rose Harvest/Distillation has just been completed. And many of you also know .. I was unable to get a single drop of Rose Otto last year. There was no Turkish Rose Otto available. The entire crop was sold prior to harvest/distillation. The previous year I sold over 25 kilos .. but in 2004 I was not able to obtain a single kilo. For the entire year lots of folks asked how it would go this year. Well .. I am happy as a pig at a slop trough to announce that .. even though there was again a shortage of Rose Otto .. I was able to get five kilos this year. :-p Don't even think of trying to negotiate a price. ;-) The run on Turkish Rose Otto began in 2003 .. prices went up .. in 2004 the perfumery companies paid in advance and the entire crop was not enough to satisfy their needs .. they were actually bidding on it and the BULK (over 10 kilo) prices went as high as $6,750 a kilo. There were no SINGLE kilo offers accepted. The reason for this run on Turkish Rose Otto was that in 2003 a lot of badly adulterated Rose Otto was sold from Bulgaria so they all turned to Turkish. This is not to say that Bulgarian Rose Otto is all adulterated .. it is to say that buyers are forced to exercise more caution than they did when the Soviet Union was running the show .. now there is a fair amount of mafia involvement in the business. This is even more reason for you small buyers to know your source .. and there are some good sources for Bulgarian Rose Otto on this list .. I am NOT one of them. I don't deal in Bulgarian Rose Otto. I have written to those who asked me about Bulk Rose Otto .. and I am telling you folks now that it is available .. or .. will be available. And I am one broke puppy cause I had to pay in advance for this oil. Therefore, I'm gonna let some folks help me get back in the Black. ;-) Prices are .. 25 grams ....... $ 280.00 50 grams ....... $ 520.00 100 grams ....... $ 980.00 250 grams ....... $2,300.00 500 grams ....... $4,400.00 For obvious reasons .. I will NOT sell Kilo (1,000 gram) sizes. The above prices are FOB Maryland and do NOT include shipping/insurance to the buyer's location. As y'all also know .. we charge actual costs for shipping .. there is no profit made from shipping on ANY ORDER from my company .. and there are no Mickey Mouse handling charges. Those who wish to order must pay 50% in advance and the remaining 50% at the time the Rose Otto is shipped .. it will be sent to Maryland next week and sent out to buyers the following week. Those who have already ordered .. your CC has not yet been charged the 50% .. that will happen tomorrow (Friday). I am offering up the first 3 kilos to bulk buyers .. after that the door is closed .. the last 2 kilos will be sold by me .. retail! I will not hold any on promises to buy .. I will hold it for 50% down! Somebody is gonna ask about Rose Hydrosol .. the answer is .. I was able to get 300 kilos .. not much considering that in 2003 I purchased (and sold) 3,500 kilos (3.5 metric tons) and have but a tad left of the 1,000 kilos I was able to get in 2004 .. but I am not complaining. One minor problem is that I closed my Turkish company in January so now I must get another company to export it for me. Pain in the butt! That's all. ;-) Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com PS 1: I have some scientific research (as does Martin) that shows that hydro-steam distilled Rose Otto can lower Blood Pressure as much as 30% in a matter of minutes. Gotta dig it out and I'll present it. PS 2: If the new folks would like to take a trip through the Rose Fields and Stills of Turkey, go to the following URLs ... My writings/photos on distillation of Rose Otto can be found at this URL http://www.av-at.com/distillation/rosadamascena1.html Here is a URL with lots of good photos of wild aromatic plants of Turkey .. http://www.av-at.com/stuff/triptoturkey.html Martin Watt visited the Turkish Rose Fields in Summer 2000 - following was published in the Winter 2000 edition of the magazine " Aromatica " . http://www.aromamedical.com/articles/rosedistillation.htm
