Guest guest
I picked up the August 2005 edition of " Costco Connection " yesterday. Finally got around to reading it. An article on small business, " Shop Secrets: A retail expert offers makeover tips to energize your business, " by Dana Tye is an article about Natalie Tan, who has a retail consulting business, Retail Exellence (www.retailexcellence.com). In part, the article states: " Silently sell to customers. Attractive displays, highlighting various textures, colors and shapes, beg to be touched, says Tan: " If people touch it, they're more likely to buy it. " Retailers should pay attention to the oft neglected senses of smell, hearing and taste, via subtle aromatherapy, age-appropriate music and delicious product samples to heighten the overall shopping experience. " Page 19, " The Costco Connection, " August 2005 Perhaps some people on this list could go to small businesses in their town and have the business owner try aromatherapy in their place of business, and see if they do get more business. Just a thought. Blessings, Barb
