Re: August Herb of the Month - EZ

I love basil too!

I have it in the front flower bed, in the herb bed, in

an impromptu LARGE area to the right of the house

(meaning I didn't plant it there - it migrated!) in

the driveway....in the garden.....

I can't pick it fast enough!

Neat Essential Oils, Vibrations, Etc (was Re: Introduction O/T

Essential; Oils)

Hi Folks,

I still don't have a happy computer, but did pop on and saw parts of

the below thread and the discussion about using EO's neat (undiluted)

and not diluting them because it'll disturb their natural vibrations,

etc ... and I want to tell ya - this is overlooking some vitally

important facts, and some folks here might want to seriously rethink

that " modus operandi " .

First, there are plenty of documented cases of folks becoming

sensitized to EO's (including tea tree and lavender). Will it happen

to you for sure, not necessarily, but a good analogy is like drunk

driving - will you get into a wreck driving drunk? .. Maybe, maybe

not. Are there folks who've done it 100 times and gotten home without

incident? - SURE! Are there folks who got into a crash and hurt

themselves or someone else just the first time they did it? - SURE.

Do you raise the odds of getting into an accident by driving drunk

even if you've done it " safely " so many times before? - OF COURSE.

Same goes for using a potential sensitizing agent undiluted. Why

raise the risk when its unnecessary as EO's have been proven as

effective, if not even MORE effective when diluted. There are plenty

of mediums to dilute oils in also, so you're not just limited to

using oily substances ...

Now, onto the vibrational stuff ... to make an EO, plant matter is

put into a distillation unit and exposed to steam (which as we all

know is hotter than boiling water) and through that process the oil

soluble matter is separated from the water soluble matter. A pretty

intense (and stressful) process. Now, most folks I know agree that

boiling

vegetables " boils the life out of them " , so I wonder where on earth

folks

get this precious, delicate " vibrational " thing about something that

emerges from the distillation

process?

Now, don't get me wrong when it comes to my feelings about EO's. I do

personally make " spiritual oil blends " and " potions " - and I don't

use synthetic oils as I do feel it is important to use the botanical

materials rather than synthetic substitutes, and I use EO's in my

home for ailments of various types, but I don't put them on

a " vibrational " pedestal and decline to dilute them cause I'm

concerned that it'll disturb their " vibrational " qualities in some

way.

If anything was going to affect any innate vibrational qualities of

the original botanical matter, undergoing the distillation process to

make them

would have!

Oh, and lastly, the whole thing about Rosemary EO being

contraindicated for high blood pressure is hooey - don't get caught

up in an unsound, unproven, phony contraindication like that, while

ignoring the very real, proven, potential for a problem such as using

the oils neat ...

Kristin,

The Chiropractor I work for went to India last fall on a mission

trip with a group of students and Doctors. They set up free clinics

for the people. She saw more than one child paralized from the

polio vaccine and lots of other kinds of vaccine damage. I don't

think the reporting the rotory is hearing about is accurate! My

Boss won't join rotory because of the things she's seen first hand

from their good intentioned work.

Re: OT - vaccines

Let rephrase. It's my understanding from the newspapers and world nightly

news a few weeks ago, it was stated after the 1980's heavy metal was no

longer utilized in vaccinations.

If I'm wrong,I'm wrong. I find it hard to believe those two sources are

wrong.

Never the less, my personal choice would be the same as was over 30 years

ago. Contracting the diseases is far worse than getting the vaccines

Herb of The Week Suggestions?

Ok, so I took the summer off when it came to doing the " Herb of the

week " .. but now the kiddos are back to school here in TX and although

it'll feel like summer until November here <grinz> Autumn is just around

the corner and its about time to get back to work ...

So, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what botanicals

they'd like to see discussed in our " Herb of the Week " series ...
