Guest guest
I know very little about E.O.s ( but I DO now know where to go for reliable hype-free information, thanks to this group and Martin) so please forgive me if this is a totally dumb question. I have a pink flowering oregano all over the place. It started out as a garden plant, but has long ago decided that gardens are for sissies and it is quite tough enough to do without them, thank you. I don't feel like messing around with stills but I love playing with my herbs. We are enjoying a stretch of hot dry weather that would be nice for sun-infusion. Now, since we have to dilute an E.O. anyhow, what is the difference between an infused oil and an essential oil totally diluted? Are there many substances in the E.O. that infusion just doesn't get at? If so, approximately what percentage? Is infusion a valid way to extract some healing properties of oregano at all? What about a tincture? I have already dried a few huge bags for use in cooking. Thanks for any answers!
