I know! We do that all the time

here in winter. I live in the

Valley of Hot Springs.

In summer I prefer the lakes.

Take your pick of the big cold one or small warm ones.

Butch, if you ever need another

job you could always apply at

the Turkish chamber of commerce

to be a Turkey promotor.

You make me want to go there!

As for the oregano issue:

actually, I'll make another post of that.

be well!

Hi Ien,

I hear you on the busy .. been a bit of that lately myself. ;-)

Good it is .. smiling is great medicine. :-)

> Really enjoyed your description of life in Ankara.

Ankara is a what's happening city without all the contraindications we

find in most large European and American cities. Actually .. its a

rather small large city .. population near 3 million but most of us

travel the same routes and don't visit much of the city .. so we run

into each other often.

There's much to do here .. and just outside the city. An hour out in

one direction is the largest Tumuli in Turkey .. the burial site of King

Midas. Lots of wild roses in that area. An hour in another direction

is Kizilcahamam .. in the mountains in pine forests where hot springs

flow through very inexpensive resort hotels/spas where one can swim

through a tunnel and be in hot or cold water. Its great to swim outside

in winter in the hot water and have snow flakes falling around you.

Sunday Angelica and I went to Lake Golbasi (also an hour out) horseback

riding. Angel had never ridden a horse but after a half hour of good

instruction by a professional .. she was a regular cowgirl. She loves

animals (probably why she likes me). I mean she really loves animals ..

she thinks the camels at Cappadochia are cute. Anybody ever seen a cute

camel? :-( Gal has 2 baby rabbits in her home and plans to take them

back to Russia. I think she'd take the horse back if she could figger a

way to make it happen. ;-)

Interesting it was to see a Russian Fox riding a Turkish Horse. ;-)

Tomorrow we head to the Black Sea for a week .. Amasra (ancient Sesamos)

was founded by the Miletians in the 6th Century BC .. its around three

hours drive from Ankara. We'll stay there a while and then move east

around 15 km to Cakraz .. a fishing village with an outstanding beach.

Folks there are ultra hospitable .. pansiyon owners ask at night what

kind of fresh fish you would like for breakfast. Then on 15 August

Angel will board a plane to go back to Russia to continue her university

studies. I think Living in General is beautiful if we're able to share

beautiful times with beautiful people along the way. :-)

> Hope you had a great time at that wedding.

Great it was .. thanks. I'm no better (nor worse) at Russian dancing

now than I was then .. but its good fun. ;-)

Oregano is certainly a wonder EO .. I'm sure BigPharm would like to

figger out a way to take it from us. I am taking a good supply of it

with us cause we will probably be doing some Black Sea (Laz) Folk

Dances in that area and likely it is I'll need some muscle relaxing

after showing off a bit. ;-)
