I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! Its been a typical Sunday

in August here - lots of sun, heat and humidity.

I spent some time in the garden. I've cut back my spearmint patch which

has gone into " summer funk " mode - where it gets all straggly, ucky and

pathetic. A quick once over with the weed wacker does the job though.

It'll be all budding, lush and bountiful again in a matter of weeks.

I'll be getting ready to weed, mulch and plant some veggies again soon -

like carrots, beets, a new round of onions, etc ...

Anyway - I have Jasmine on my mind. My Jasmine sambac plant is flowering

again and I just got a lovely sample of Jasmine grandiflorum absolute

from a distiller in Egypt. The scent of the J. grandi absolute is so

much different that the scent of the J. sambac absolute. It's so much

softer and " round " to me. The J. sambac has more " edges " to it IMO.

I decided to play around with it a little bit and right now I am

diffusing a blend of J. grandi absolute, Chocolate absolute, Grapefruit

and just a touch of Patchouli .. its really nice! :)

Sambac is the dark, dusky sister of the virginal grandi, so yes,

" edgy " would be a good way to describe " her " ;-) More carnal, more

sensual. Enjoy! LOL

Could it be you're inching towards becoming a perfumer?! I'd add a bit

of pepper, and some cedarwood, and put it in some alcohol and dab it

on myself, 'cause I figure, why waste it on the air, when it can be

making some alchemical magic on my skin and the aura around me?
