Maybe I'm missing a post some where .. making Oregano Oil? In any case .. Oregano Oil AND Unrefined Xtra-Virgin Olive Oil are both self preserving .. they will not go rancid quickly. Refined Olive Oil might .. I have little experience with it. Avoid any rubber objects .. like medicine dropper bulbs and such when using Oregano .. and many other EO .. as the molecules from the rubber will QUICKLY leach into the EO. > Thanks, > > Dede Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
Guest guest
Hi Dede, Are you talking about making an infused oregano oil, or making your own homemade version of the product sold in the store as " Oil Of Oregano " which is basically Oregano EO diluted in a fixed vegetable oil? In either case, you can add a bit of Vitamin E to your concoction to prevent it from oxidizing as quickly as it would without the added anti-oxidant. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com On Behalf Of edgetexlady OK, so if I make oregano oil using a vegetable oil (such as olive oil), do I need to put in any kind of preservative (like vitamin A) to keep it from going rancid? Thanks, Dede
