Guest guest
Butch Owen <butchbsi Fri, 25 Jun 2004 18:30:19 -0700 Oregano and Sciatica and Living in General Hi y'all, I really like Oregano .. did I ever tell y'all that? ;-) And I like the area I live in. On the 5th floor in a building on a hill (would be 6th in America but here the entry level is not the first floor) and when I look up from my PC the view is all of Ankara .. for miles and miles. When I go outside .. anything and everything I could want or need is within walking distance .. mind boggling it is at all the services in this area .. and restaurants and snack shops are open 24 hours a day. Going to a funeral .. oopps .. I mean a wedding at 7 tonight .. feller who owns Papsi Pub is marrying his Russian girlfriend after 4 + years of seeing if they were compatible. ;-) And as I always put things that don't excite me off till the last minute .. had to run out today for a haircut, shave and chair massage .. get a suit dry cleaned .. a pair of shoes professionally shined .. get a new necktie .. and a gift .. got a traditional one .. a Cumhuriyet (Republic) Gold Coin. All of this was done in one circle of the area I live in .. maybe a 1/2 mile walk all in all coming and going. But .. this morning .. as was the case the last week or so .. I woke up with pain down the left side .. Sciatica is a beach fer'shur. Soaked in a hot tub afore going out and it was much better. But by the time I returned it was kicking my butt big-time .. walking bent sideways like an old man and such. Around 20 minutes of so ago I put 4-5 drops of Oregano on a cotton ball and sniffed it for a couple of minutes. Right now there is exactly NO PAIN .. and I'm thinking it won't hit me again until tomorrow morning cause I will be acting a typical fool tonight as is expected. Drinking and eating and dancing this and that dance plus a few Turkish and Russian folk dances .. there is a Turkish band scheduled but there will be Russian musicians there too. I'm thinking it oughta be one helluva good time and I've not tried Raki while gulping shots of Russian Vodka off the back of the hand while doing dances folks half my age shouldn't be doing in the second place. ;-) So .. again .. Oregano to the rescue. To all you folks who suffer from Sciatica .. as I do .. get some Oregano (Carvacrol type) and try it. I don't care where you get it .. from me or anybody else .. serious I am, but get it cause sure as a bear craps in the woods, the Pope is Catholic and I'm gonna act a fool tonight .. it works! So off I am now .. all the while knowing I owe a lot of you good folks replies to this and that post .. but it ain't gonna happen tonight and its nothing personal .. just gotta prioritize my life and best as I can figger .. living is what we do whilst we're waiting to die. So .. y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
Guest guest
Dear Butch, Since I was busy with family in June I just read your post from the 25th now. It made me smile! Really enjoyed your description of life in Ankara. Hope you had a great time at that wedding. I had no idea Oregano could act as a muscle-relaxer/ painkiller too. Amazing stuff. All the education here is terrific.
