What has helped me and my daughter (both fit your description, except that the COPD is usually mild) is Frankincense essential oil. Just inhaled from the bottle or a tissue. Also, Blue Tansy oil (tanecetum annuum)... my daughter has severe asthma attacks, and she uses Jeanne Rose's remedy...a drop of blue tansy on a sugar cube, and let it melt in her mouth. I also have clients who swear that using blue tansy in an aromalamp has allowed them to cut their allergy medicines WAY back. The various Eucalyptus species may or may not help. We've not found them personally useful, but they might be worth trying for your client. I find Black Spruce (picea mariana) helpful. by inhalation (I love it in the aroma lamp). For ME, steam helps... a hot steamy shower or a bowl of hot water with a towel over my head to capture the steam. I also find that drinking ginger tea helps. Any kind of herb tea (depending whether it's morning or night, etc. will determine what tea) with a couple of slices of crystalized ginger steeping in the cup ... when the tea is gone, I eat the ginger. I don't know if that actually helps or not...it does make me feel better but that might be because I expect it to. hope some of this helps. Celebrating 10 years online. Guest guest
Thank you all for the experiences you shared with me, the Belgian woman is only 38 years old and has already lost 50% of her lung capacity... She gives workshops about aromatherapy since 10 years and hates corisone or other allopatic products. I gave her a workshop last year, together with 3 other woman, she came back this years with 13 other people for my workshop, accompagnied with children, caring husbands etc... more than 25 all together... She told the others I would give them courses from the morning till the night... and that's exactly what we did... She used already picea mariana and I adviced her the use of hysop montana canescens (the high linalol one). She even considers leaving Belgium and come to live in the mountains too, but she has some little children. I had a break friday and saturday, we went swimming in mountain sources at 1300 m altidude... I gave a conference last night, (too late), but some nurses were very happy with what they heard. I have plenty of emails to answer, had not much time left last weeks (next week my 4 th workshop this summer), but will try to reply rapidly... regards, Michel Vanhove
