Anyone here ever made their own mead?

I did once, YEARS ago, but used regular bread yeast, and it came out ..

ummm .. shall we say .. not quite right *lol*

I'm thinking it would be nice to get a batch going for the seasonal

festivals towards the end of the year and I figured I'd see if anyone

had a tried and true recipe they wouldn't mind sharing ...

My husband make it a lot and I personally think it's nasty!!!!

But I do have a recipe if you would like it. I can either post it or send it

private..

I used wine yeast and I am not sure if there isnt something better.

In my opinion, (and I am not an expert)

second choice would be champain yeast

bear yeast might be next choice.

bread yeast would be my last choice.

Wish that I had some MEAD right now.

Good Luck

I wouldn't mind seeing a mead recipe--maybe Honey can put it in the basement?

Chris,

I've never tried making it yet.... I do have some friends I can tap for recipes

to try... It'll be a while till I can get with them though... Have you tried

searching the web for the recipes... I know that honey is one of the main

ingredients...
