Yup - welcome to the high tech world! My ex company, (big database company

in the SF Bay Area, not Oracle <g>) does that same thing - lays everyone

off when they reach a certain age and/or salary level - no real pension

plan, and the 401k matching is slim to non-existent! And another company I

worked for (big workstation and server manufacturer in Silicon Valley) hires

primarily SE Asians or outsources most of its technical positions. Its

actually great interpersonally, cause I had a lot of contact with people I

never would have met otherwise, but when you consider what it does to our

economy...Not Too Good!! I actually submitted a complaint to the H1-B visa

committee at the time, cause I knew they were over the then-limits. Fat

lotta good that did!
