They're a byproduct of the concrete/absolute process, the wax that used to be thrown away. They're in no way connected to essential oils. Is there some marketing thing going on I don't know about? I've always known them as floral waxes, that's all. I have a very hard time wrapping my brain around calling them essential waxes. Just doesn't make any sense to me. http://naturalperfumery.com The premier site on the Web to discover the beauty of Natural Perfume " Always do right. Guest guest
Hi there, >question -- why is everyone calling them essential waxes? They're a >byproduct of the concrete/absolute process, the wax that used to be >thrown away. I first heard about them at http://www.jeannerose.net/articles/essential_flower_waxes.html -- Weird, " Essential Flower Waxes " has a copyright symbol after it... my limited understanding of IP law is that you could trademark a short phrase like that, but not copyright it. Anyway, I seem to have--too conveniently--glossed over the parts about " solvent extraction " and " mixed with hazelnut oil " when I first saw the article. Can you folks tell me what kind of solvents are used in this process? Are all floral waxes mixed with other ingredients before being sold, or is it possible to get it by itself? -Josh
Guest guest
So Googling for " essential waxes " returns 152 results, " floral waxes " returns 2,590. Guess that says somethin' ;-) -Josh

Hi Josh, I think that copyright symbol is for the 'information' (as in any author's copyright) . . . not the product.
