I do not know if you take vitamins or not. Our right to have vitamins has

been in jeopardy for a long time, it looks like we are in trouble. I would

say that the Pharmaceutical companies are looking for a grand slam and it is

getting delivered to them. I would say that along with a lot of other

situations it is time or past time for us to stick together, our country is

not

the same countery it was say 10 yrs ago. We should not have anything to worry

about, we have the constitution, the bill of rights along with a lot of other

words that should asure us of our rights, but here we go, my great

grandmother used herbs, now they are going to try to get them, vitamins and

their

potency is in trouble. This is serious and we had all better come together as

a group, sharon

This is very sad and scary

The Codex vitamin guideline was finalized today (July 4th) in Rome Italy.

So its no longer a draft guideline, its now international law. They put the

cart before the horse and finalized a FRAMEWORK, intending to use JUNK

SCIENCE to fill in the blanks on allowable potencies for vitamins and

minerals next November at the CCNFSDU meeting in Bonn Germany.

As IAHF predicted, there was nary a whimper of protest coming from US

Delegate Ed Scarbrough, the same guy who threw me off the US Codex

Delegation in 2000 when I requested he remove Dr.Yetley of the FDA citing

evidence that she'd violated US law at Codex meetings in '96 and in '98.

When I requested he remove her as US Delegate, instead, he did HER bidding

and removed ME because it made Yetley uncomfortable that I was trying to

put her under a congressional microscope.

The USA is being set up for harmonization to this Codex guideline via the

Sanitary Phytosanitary Measures Agreement (SPS) which is contained within

the WTO Trade Agreement. Article 3 of SPS in the WTO trade agreements says:

" To harmonize sanitary and phytosanitary measures on as wide a basis as

possible, Members SHALL base their food safety measures on international

standards, guidelines or recommendations. "

CAFTA and FTAA would broaden and deepen the scope of the SPS Agrement,

forcing harmonization to Codex upon the USA.

CAFTA contains SPS language in Article 6 which would force the USA to

create an SPS Committee as we've entered into an agreement to engage in a

constant process of harmonizing our laws to international law.

CAFTA has passed the House Ways and Means Committee, and the Senate, and

when congress reconvenes on July 11th, it could be sent to the floor of the

House literally any time after they come back. The Washington Post has

indicated that the vote in the House could be decided by a margin of one

single vote.
