Guest guest
There are several old articles of mine on that site, but the email links are around 6 years out of date. I have asked Michel Van Hove at least three times over the years to amend the links, but it has not happened. I even offered to change the coding myself so all they had to do was to upload the page. Latest request sent yesterday. Anyone wanting the full articles and my correct email (not this groups one), would be better visiting my own website. All the articles are now downloadable in zip files so you can read them off line, and there are many more than featured on AGORA. I'm just verifying my email now. I'm quit busy with my business and with the workshops I give here. The Agora pages started with many volonteers...most vanished with the months or years. Computers crash sometimes, webpages change from one server to another...it's quit some work... Websites are sometimes renewed, sometimes old files are put bach instead of the latest versions... I went to all that last years. The Agora pages are completely volonteer's work, made by different engaged people. There is more on the agora webpages than Martin's articles, I would love to update them and add new articles, some help would be really appreciated, I also have my daily work here. I'm just the initiator of that project, I could never have done it alone. I'm still proud that thousands of people learned something through this free information pages, that was the initial intention anyway. You should also know that I host the initial page, but not the links page, that's another volonteer's work, and she still keeps that page running, paying for the web space as I do for the pages I host on my websites. I remember questions from you Martin, and thought that the links were updated on the main article pages on time , as requested, I did not knew of the ones left, you did not verified them? Six years seems long to me, as you write on this forum, and that sounds quit negative, I'm almost five years in France now, it took me more than 3 years to have a fast internet connection again ( I had to drop France Telecom, keep my GSM's and take a satelite sender/receiver to be able to work again). Martin, I'll remove your articles from the Agora pages I keep and ask the owner of the link pages to do so if you prefer not be on them anymore. I would regrett it, because I always intended to have different viewpoints on them... Anyone who would like to help with the Agora pages can mail me (michel), I think of translations in other languages, new items etc... A project I started in februari 2005 can be found on http://www.nature-helps.com/oils It's the beginning of an essential oils database with real analyses and fact about essential oils (image of the color of the oils, density, solubility etc...), I received no help for it and am hesitating to join it on agora or to make restrict it to people who add at least something to improve it (a analyse, an image of some herbs or oils...). That's all for now, I need to rest a while from my trip, regards, Michel Vanhove France
Guest guest
Hi Martin . . . Rob and I run a closed mailing list on which the authors/hosts for AGORA discuss projects, updates, etc. I admit we haven't had a lot of activity, as Michel says we all have gotten busy. I will forward this post to the list so that those who are hosting your pages can communicate with you to update them. Michel, there are about 48 current members . . . If you want to communicate the need for volunteer efforts to get energized again. Guest guest
Hi Michel, This is a reply to an old message ... (we all get so darn busy I can surely say that I know of at least a few people here including myself that would be willing to help you work on AGORA including getting the links on the pages updated, submit some new articles and try to contact folks who had articles up but the pages went " poof " ... Guest guest
For those of you who wish to work on AGORA, Rob and I have run an AGORA mailing list to coordinate the work since its inception. You will notice that the papers are hosted on various websites around the globe, not just Michel's, although the original creative idea certainly sprung from his wonderful, generous self . . . it is a global community effort. To submit your intent or questions and to find out more about how it all works, send an email to AGORA with the word " " in the subject line, sans the quotes. Inactive members who have changed their email addresses should re if they wish to get active again. The index is run by Suki and she recently cleaned up some of the links, but old papers need to be updated, etc. People already involved will volunteer to host new pages if you don't have a website, but have something to contribute, and help you develop ideas for papers if you need help. Papers are usually peer-reviewed and critiqued there, which maintains the quality of submittals. There has been little activity over the past year and we all would welcome help and support.
