Can anyone let me know what a DO is and where one can purchased them? Are they simply fragrance oils as I suspect or...? Butch man - sending you an e-mail in a second as well. Domestic simply means a plant is grown/distilled in this country as opposed to in another country. Sounds like someone is trying to either fool you or doesn't know what they are talking about. Essential oils grown here are the same (considering all the applicable geo/alt/climatic variances) as elsewhere provided they are the same botanical species. Hope this helps. My customers are very much into natural products and I get plenty of questions, however this is the first time I've heard the term " domestic oils " when it comes to perfumes. She did post on my forum and told me that she checked with the company as I suggested her. After reading my post (about fragrances such as strawberry, apple, raspberry etc. not existing in real AT), she did say that what she got from this perfume company was most likely made with artificial fragrances. I'd be somewhat cautious with either site you mention here . . . they both have what they call *domestic* oils - which all appear to be fragrance oils. Under essential oils, some are dubious (Ambrosia) and there is no information (Latin binomial, country of origin, etc.) that tells you that the sellers are educated about their product . . . Even more scary is that there is no safety information at all on either site and a lot of oils that should be avoided or used with extreme caution. We can only surmise that they purchase some domestic fragrance (synthetic) oils and some imported . . . As you have concluded.
