Guest guest
Foremost, I am an herbalist, too...but have studied and used Eo's for almost 10 years now. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE ! The difference lies in the preparation of the plant material.. When a tincture is made the herb extracts different from it than in steam extraction . Different phytochemicals are released ! Besides that, there is the huge amount of concentration. I have to agree that there are a lot of Reiki and Massage Therapists out there with a smidgen of knowledge in AT and a little bit of knowledge can be a serious thing. Also my gripe with them is that most do not sufficiently clear the air between clients and I just don't care to have the same oils in the air as someone before me... One reason some of us so valiantly tried to explain the dangerous use of neat oil by Young living oil, was the overuse of neat oils and the almost non existent knowledge their salespeople had about the phytochemistry of the oils they where selling. Martin Watt is the best person to study with, to truly be careful when using essential oils, however some of our list members also have wonderful websites up to warn people and are selling responsibly. Such as http://www.naturesgift.com/warnings.htm and I am sure there are other list members here that have good safety information on their websites , too. C-M, who got a new hip and is learning to walk all over again...
