from the distiller in Spain and has been tested by our lab and is

Our Neroli Hydrosol (Citrus aurantium/Orange Blossom) has an intense

floral and exotic aroma. It has been distilled from the blossoms of the

Bitter Orange tree and smells the way orange blossoms should. Neroli

is known to have a calming effect and is great for stressful situations.

It calms the central nervous system without making you feel sleepy. It

can be used to calm screaming children to help calm them down. You can

also make a lovely Neroli Hydrosol Pillow spray to help soothe stressed

nerves and allow a peaceful sleep. Some people have used this as a

spritz to calm their cat when it needs to go the vet.

Neroli does have astringent properties and can be used in skin care

where it can help to reduce redness and irritation. It is beneficial

for all skin types and can be used in face masks, creams and lotions.

Sometimes it might be too strong for sensitive skin, so you might want

to blend it with a rose or chamomile hydrosol as well.

 

 

 

It can also be used as a digestive aid, calming spasms of the digestive

tract. Try a little bit in a glass of spring water for a soothing,

refreshing treat! Try a tablespoon in a glass of white wine or, cook

with it as well in a marinade!

 

 

 

For those trying to get themselves off caffeine, Neroli hydrosol can

help to calm the withdrawl jitters rapidly.

 

 

 

Hydrosols are a valuable by-product of the distillation process which

produces the precious essential oils of a plant. Hydrosols contain the

oil soluble chemicals found in the essential oil as well as water

soluble aromatic chemicals, which are not found in the essential oil.

Hydrosols are far less concentrated than essential oils and are safer

and gentler to use than the essential oils, but they do contain

microscopic amounts of the essential oils.

 

 

 

Neroli hydrosol is wonderful for many cosmetic applications. For

example, it is much gentler and more effective than many commercial skin

toners. It can be the ingredient used in the water phase of the lotion

making. Blended with various powdered clays, it makes a wonderful

facial mask. During hot summer days it can be placed into a spritzer

bottle and used liberally to keep skin cool, plump and supple.

Upon receipt of your hydrosol it should be stored in the refrigerator.
