Guest guest
>>>On ebay, some sellers are lowering the prices of their items due to lower ebay fees and then lowering the boom on the shipping costs. Evidently, ebay and paypal do not charge a percentage on shipping>> Ebay actually has a name for this! It is called " circumventing fees " , but when you complain about a seller who practices this, nothing seems to get done about it. I've gotten to the point where if I see something I really want and the shipping is a rip off, I don't even bid on it.....along those same lines is suppliers that charge a *handling* fee! HELLO.....if it is *your* product that your handing, it should be expected that your going to have to handle it to get it out to customers. ~~shaking my head, as I just don't understand some folks' sense of reasoning!~~ Chris Kelly http://www.scentsappeal.net -- Version: 7.0.323 / Virus Database: 267.6.4 - Release 6/6/2005
Guest guest
Even the Chemistry Store charges a " handling " charge though. and if you look at catalogs most of them charge shipping and handling. I am not condoning this but when you are sometimes practically giving something away on eBay what are you to do? What about co-ops? You don't make any money and the hostess fee usually pays for the packaging, tape, boxes, ziploc bags, containers, etc. Are those people expected to eat the credit card fees? What is the point of a coop? Why would anyone want to do one? Now I see you (Chris) have the right idea -- no credit cards via Paypal, but what are you gonna do if someone needs an item and they need it NOW. Check and MO is nice if a person can wait. Just trying to show there are 2 sides to THIS coin.... Joyce S. Guest guest
I agree that " Handling fees " are a rip off. To me it is a cost of doing business. So it is included in the cost of the item When we ship something the only added cost is the ACTUAL postage costs. Nothing for packaging, handling. etc. BTW .. re shippiing. .the USPS do a great priority mailling thing. They have fixed price boxes only $7.70 for as much as you can cram into either of two sizes of boxes. The wieght doesn't matter. e.g. I can send to anywhere in the USA more than 50 soaps for that price. Saves a LOT.. I did a mailout of 52 soaps that would have cost $22.10 but only cost $7.70 Graham Sorenson http://Luna-Aromatics.com Come and stick your nose in our business The Home of " Arizona Balm " the Natural Solution to Problem Dry Skin.
