Guest guest
Hey Dallas, Deb .. other good folks .. > What is fractionated oil ? I a newbee and a dumbee ! LOL Its a process of separation or removal of certain components of the chemical equation .. sometimes its performed at the still and sometimes after distillation. The intent is to create a commercially acceptable product .. i.e., to improve the odor or the safety or the shelf life of a product. Examples of some fractionated products are Fractionated Coconut Oil (done after production) and some Ylang Ylangs (done at the still). > Thanks Rosanne: > That's the one! > > Anyone interested in a 5 gal drum of Fractionated oil? There's a guy > on ebay with one for $90 plus $40 shipping. He bought it from FNWL. > Their price is $150, plus shipping. Hmmmmmmm This might be a good price .. IF .. one knows what they are getting. IF it is crap .. then saving a few bucks is NOT a good deal. Shipping five gallons via FedEx Ground in the USA for $40 is NOT a good deal .. its high. Last week we sent five gallons of Rose Hydrosol to Western Canada (we are in MD) via US Postal for less than $80 and a couple of weeks ago we sent 4 gallons plus 2 ea 16 oz bottles of EO to another address in Canada via US Postal for $62.75 .. and US Postal is a lot higher than FedEx Ground. We charge actual costs on shipping .. wise buyers consider the shipping costs and product cost when looking for bargains. Don't be discouraged if you find few real bargains today .. those in the business for reasons other than participating in an expensive hobby are paying approximately the same prices for their products .. I say " approximately " because one can get more bang for the buck with a purchase of a 50 kilogram barrel than they can buying 5 kilos at a time. Amazing it is how often I see products for sale for LESS than the cost of distillation .. less than the cost the factory paid to produce the product. Especially on soap groups I see folks asking where is a good place to get a nice this or that .. and the replies are always related to prices .. never to proven (via analysis) quality. And I see others asking for suppliers in their area .. they want to save on the shipping costs .. so a list member comes back with .. so and so ships free. Mama Theresa is dead .. ain't no free lunches out there. Those who say they are shipping for free have the cost of shipping covered in the price of the products .. or .. they will not be in business very long. I have international customers in 66 countries .. largest group being in Taiwan. They often discuss shipping costs on their AT groups. One of my buyers recently wrote on a group that folks should consider that an oil from Madagascar or the USA or wherever .. that was not produced in Taiwan .. was shipped there from outside and the shipping plus customs fees are going to be covered in the price of the oil. ;-) Maybe its fun to deceive oneself. ;-) > A most fragrant day to ya'll, > deb Thankee ma'am .. and y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com Wholesale/Retail GC Tested EO and Tested Hydrosols, Rose Products and other nice things shipped from our store in downtown Friendsville, MD.
