Guest guest
Hey folks, For a while now I've been doing group exercises classes at my local gym. Specifically a thing called Kwando & Powerflex with Abs. Its basically 40 minutes of an intense cardio aerobic workout that incorporates movements derived from boxing, tae kwon do, and karate with the focus is on punches and kicks. Then after that is a half hour of Powerflex, which is a barbell workout for many different muscle groups. Then after you're sweating profusely from all that and ready to keel over, they have you work out your abs for about 15 minutes *lol* This really kicks my butt (which is the point), but I've noticed that my stamina has been improving and I have even increased my weights a bit for the Powerflex. Anyway - now on to what this post is actually about .. Some days it really REALLY kicks my butt and I tell you - I feel like I'm walking like a great grannie *lol* STIFF is the word! Here is what I've been doing to help counter that: Internally I am taking homeopathic arnica tablets Bath - I took a good rosemary soak (but this isn't so good to do at night - TOO stimulating - daytime only) Rub - I am using a muscle rub that includes good stuff like arnica, grapefruit EO, black pepper EO, rosemary EO, eucalyptus EO, etc .. (of course all EO's being used in a massage blend or muscle rub needs to be diluted properly so as not to cause irritation to the skin). I am wondering what anyone else does when they've over exerted themselves ... what kinds of herbal and/or mineral baths y'all take, what kinds of EO blends y'all use, etc ... *Smile* Chris (list mom - trying to get into shape for summer and beyond) http://www.alittleolfactory.com

Guest guest
Hi, When I'm sore, I take a bath in Pepermint Tea (yes, I cheat and use the Tea Bags..lol). It's nice and cooling. Just an idea Erin Guajardo
Guest guest
I like Epsom salts combined with MSM crystals and a few drops each of helichrysum and lavender oils in a nice warm bath. If it's really bad, afterward I rub on MSM lotion with a couple more drops of helichrysum mixed in. By morning I usually feel a lot better. Can't recommend anything for the bath, only have a shower here. But for a muscle relaxer for stiffness, I use the following: Equal parts: Spikenard, just love this EO Roman Chamomile Petitgran Clary Sage I use a 5% dilution, but you can go up or down depending on your own perference. I use other blends for different muscle and joint problems that would include black pepper and of course Helichrysum, but for sore stiff muscles I find that the above works best. Guest guest
I find that for me meditation and STRECHING to wonders. I also take a good multi-vit and c and b complex along with my calcium.I can really tell if I miss the calcium for a day or two,the next day(toe cramps etc) Also just having/giving a day off helps your body relax and seems to keep me in less pain.In fact this year I increased my walking program and feel GREAT! My shin splints are not bothering me and my periods are smaller and less painful and I have more energy. This is big news for me(the best side effect is better sex) LOL!HeHeHe!, As for EO I take a hot bath with mint/equlyptus blend and this seems to help.Kind of a male scent though. Adding Lavender will also round this out nicely.
