I see so many folks using a piece of shareware clipart for their logo... something really tacky. I am NOT a graphic artist, and knew that logo design was way beyond my scope. I went to an online firm... 1800mylogo to design ours. It's in their portfolio, so you can see the rational behind the design at http://www.1800mylogo.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/see01.htm?L+scstore+hywc6520ff4\ 4fe44+1118854602 I have changed the shade of green they used for the stem to a more vibrant 'leafy/grassy' shade... other than that... I have been really pleased. >Use it to reflect your company's attributes. If your company is >conservative, make your logo conservative, if progressive than use boldness >and action. Guest guest
There is another aspect of logos, and that is the way they make *you* feel about your business. Mine was floating in my head for about a year, and I finally sketched it out and had a designer " do it up " a couple years ago. Now it is a breeze to put together an ad, make paperwork look more professional, or come up with promotional materials. It changed the way I felt - from dabbling, to a real business. Like Marge, mine is everywhere. I even got reverse window clingies for shops that carry the magazine. Last time I did an herb fair, it was a shock to find that people were buying the t-shirts...... just because they liked the logo! Sigh. But, since the web address is part of the logo, maybe they'll check out the magazine sometime :-).
