Guest guest
Hi Now that summer is approaching I need to get on top of the Excema condition I have had for years (in fact from birth and I'm now 47) - it's a real embarrassment for me - it seems as if one minute I'm itching my head, the next my back - and you know the way it goes? The more I itch, the worse it gets. I am also fed up of being my physician's guinea pig with medical lotions and potions and so I really need advice from anyone in this list who can help? I need some advice with recipes and methods of soaps and lotions etc, that you would recommend. I, and my family would appreciate any help you can give Thanks in advance Kevin
Guest guest
Hi Kevin, One of the best remedies Ive ever seen is Hemp Seed Oil - its very emollient, and very high in GLA - I use it straight instead of hand lotion it disappears in a heartbeat. You can get it in capsules and that might be a good thing for you. There is no cure, but a healthy diet can lessen the outbreaks. Use hand made soap, and try to stay away from anything scented, I have a brother who had the condition as a child, but he seemed to grow out of it, has not had an outbreak in years, Mary Well, Naturally http://www.wellnaturally.com At 02:10 PM 5/31/2005, you wrote: >Hi > >Now that summer is approaching I need to get on top of the Excema >condition I have had for years (in fact from birth and I'm now 47) - >it's a real embarrassment for me - it seems as if one minute I'm >itching my head, the next my back - and you know the way it goes? Guest guest
I've (for my daughter) have had good luck with evening primrose oil and kukui nut oil, in a balm with chamomile blue. The May/June issue of Mothering Magazine also had a good article on preventing and treating ezcema. Guest guest
Hi Kevin, Do you use oils internally? Hemp oil is excellent as is organic extra virgin coconut oil. Michelle
Guest guest
My friend Maggie, in whose enterprise I have no commercial interest, makes a salve out of plantain, comfrey, chickweed and other " weeds " that many people have found very helpful for topical use in eczema. I use it as a lipbalm. Great stuff, totally safe and quite cheap too. Here is Maggie: www.flyinghandsfarm.addr.com Now, about tackling the ROOT CAUSE of skin conditions. Look to the liver and large intestine. Run to Amazon.com, and find " Healing Psoriasis " by Dr John A. Pagano. I have an old copy that I keep in my healing room to lend out. I thought it was out of print. It is not. Everything you want to know about psoriasis and eczema, and how to get rid of it! All the best, and please keep us posted about what helps? Guest guest
Hi Michelle - thanks for responding. I haven't tried taking oils - apart from when I was a child when my mum forced desertspoons full of cod liver oil down my throat! regards Kevin , " Michelle " <michelle@h...> wrote: > Hi Kevin, > > Do you use oils internally? > > Hemp oil is excellent as is organic extra virgin coconut oil. > > Michelle
