Hello Melissa,

> Thanks for all the rose info, Butch :-)

Quite welcome you are.

> Like I said ... I'm new to this so I really appreciate your

We were all new at one time and I have never been known for giving brief

explanations. ;-) In truth, the reasons for this are (1) I do like to

share what I know .. and (2) I believe that this field .. as is the case

with most any discipline (if AT/EO can be considered as such) must be

taught and learned in a logical and flowing manner .. it cannot be done

by giving short answers in a vacuum because there will be questions that

are not yet asked because the person(s) learning have not gained enough

information to be able to formulate the question(s).

The practice of Aromatherapy is relatively logical .. and if one does

not violate the principles of safety there are generally no right or

wrong answers in that practice .. that's why many folks can get away

with so much misinformation and disinformation and marketing hype. But

when we discuss Essential Oils .. we are generally in a realm where the

subject is cut and dry .. there might be opinions but if they are only

opinions it means the one with the opinion has not done sufficient home

work. ;-) We can get away with a lot discussing AT .. but we have to

be able to back our bets when we get into the area of essential oils.

I believe that more information is better than less .. some of it might

not register at the time its read .. but it will be filed away in the

old brain pan and there will come a time when that light bulb will blink

on and someone will say .. " Heck .. I understand that. " ;-)

If you wish to read a bit about the distillation of Roses .. you can go

Here is a URL with lots of good photos of wild aromatic plants of

Turkey .. http://www.av-at.com/stuff/triptoturkey.html
