Catnip & Insect repellents

Hi all,

 

The recent discussion on catnip has reminded me of a question I have. I

was thinking of making an insec repelling blend using catnip as the

primary EO. No, if I remember correctly, catnip Eo is an effective

mosquito repellent at 5% dilution. But, of course, it smells so bad that

I'd like to use some other, better smelling EOs to offset the catnip.

 

So, my questions are this: First the easy one, what other EOs would you

folks recommend for blending?

 

The trikier and more important question is what per centages of these

oils to use. I'm wondering what the total per cent of EO could be in an

insect repellent that might be used on the skin.
