I'd check with your distiller and find out exactly what she sold to you. Find out what she did with the essential oil (if anything)- is it diluted in a carrier oil? What is it? Find out if you even have true Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) or a hybrid or something else? If I ever received a colored hydrosol (intentionally colored without that being VERY clearly indicated) from a distiller that would be my last purchase for sure after I asked for a refund. Buying hydrosols is tricky business- hydrosols can easily become contaminated and water is a perfect breeding ground. I also like buying from some small distillers in the US and elsewhere with high standards (who know what they are doing), but to tell you the truth many have no clue hat they are doing- as with anything. It's nice to support your neighbors and I take it you are not selling this stuff, but still you should know what you have and what to look for for safety. There are lot's of people who think natural=safe- and that's just not the case. I love hydrosols but I use them in places I do not use essential oils- (internally and well diluted in my eyes, throat, and sinuses) and they MUST be fresh, pure, tested and handed with extreme care so as not to become contaminated. So, be careful! > > Thanks:) > Kristerae Take care! Elizabeth Whole Life Essentials http://www.WholeLifeEssentials.com See what's new! Guest guest
I am using this for deodorant mixed with grain alcohol and EO. I have been trying many different suppliers lately. This is supposed to be a small time operation here locally that practices organic from what I understand. After a couple hours the spot has dried some and is not as bad as it was 2 hours ago. More clear at this point.

I was curious and did a search for this company. It looks like what they are growing is something they are referring to as " Provence Lavender " . I'm not sure what that means- you could ask them if they are growing Lavandin or another hybrid. You'd need the Latin name to know what it is. Also, regarding their colored hydrosol. You referred to it as a hydrosol so I had assumed that was what they called it. They call their product (online anyway) a Natural Flower Water Spritzer. This may mean that they use a hydrosol of their " Provence Lavender " if they distill it and add the color, or it may mean they are using water and adding/infusing the essential oil- or anything really as people call things what they like and that's fine. So, don't know what you have unless you ask. Hydrosol really is quite specific though. Elizabeth
