Guest guest
Thanks for passing along the news of my " bee issue " Anita My house is once again bee free <grinz>. Last year we had an invasion of honey bees in our entryway (its a 2 story archway they decided they wanted to make a home in the top of it). We had the local beekeepers come to take the hive away, but because they were in the brickwork, they were unable to remove the bees and sadly had to exterminate them. Well, Friday they decided to return. We saw them in the entry way when we were came home from some afternoon errands, so we went in through the garage and called the bee keepers about it. Then I went into my kitchen and saw a bee in there, then saw another bee in there, then I listened and hear a very disturbing buzzing sound coming from the ceiling - which made me realize that the bees were in the house. I grabbed my kids, got the heck out of there and didn't come back until Saturday when we got the all clear from the bee folks. The bees have been removed and have a new home, not in my home! The irony of it all - I was making candles with beeswax early in the day on Friday (the 13th) - maybe they wanted their wax back *lol* Anyhow - today I have to run all my errands that I didn't get to run Friday and Saturday, and THEN I'll get back to e-mails and all that good stuff - so please understand the delay if you're expecting correspondence from me. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com On Behalf Of Anita Reeves Chris will be out of pocket for a little while if anyone is looking for her. She has a Bee problem in her house. They started swarming in front of her house, then the attic, then into the house. They Chris, hubby and kids, spent last night in a motel. The bee man is there now doing his thing. She will be online either later today or tomorrow. We were to go to Victoria today but alas she couldn't, and my car...the AC is out. Going down early this morning would have been fine, but not coming back later this afternoon. If anyone was trying to get in touch with her, this is the reason you haven't heard from her. Are we sure yesterday wasn't Friday the 13th<G>! Anita

I had a similar situation. We had just finished re-siding the house/ putting in new sliding glass door/putting in some ceiling-to-floor windows/learning stained glass making and putting in some stained-glass windows.... and we had done it all ourselves. Toward the end of our major re-modeling, I had torn my ankle up along with a bunch on tendons/ligaments and was on crutches -healing. We were bar-b-q'ing in the back yard and saw a bee go into a little hole in the cinder-block on the house. My significant-other (being a tuckpointer) promptly sealed the hole up with caulk -and we didn't think much of it until 2 days later when I tried to escape the invasion of bees INSIDE the house while on crutches! Being the do-it-yourself'ers that we were, he found the holes that they were getting out of inside the house and sealed them up also (yep! caulk again!). We had found out that exterminators wanted to tear out the walls to remove the bees/hive or use chemicals to kill them... and after just having put all of the time/money/heart and sweat into this major remodel.... we just could rip things apart. Now I feel kinda bad that we were so heartless about the bees... Andrea
