I prefer an oil or lotion based product for skin and water based for clothes, hair etc. I make a synergy (an undiluted blend) for my adult bug formula. This way my customers can use it the way they choose (in an oil, lotion, or water base), including diluting in water and spraying on clothes, hair and skin- no it does not stain ordinary clothing- you should test your blend first. I would not likely spray anything precious and I use a very fine mist anyway. I prefer to use a water base to spray fabric and an oil base for skin- as it is longer lasting this way on the skin. I use Jojoba oil (which is a wax). > Oil > stains are hard to get rid off, but yet they say you can't mix EO's > with water. Sure you can. Shake before use to mix or dilute your eos in a small amount of alcohol first and then add to water- or witch hazel to help disperse and blend. Use oil bases (carrier oil bases) for skin blends- the carrier oil will stain. Some eos might stain. Test first and don't spray precious fabrics. I also like to make light oil mists for bug protection for skin. > I would really like to try your catnip Butch, believe me I > don't give a darn what the stuff smells like. You are a brave woman ;-) Actually, I've effectively used (stinky) Catnip eo in my adult bug formula for several years-- one of several essential oils that works well. Some smell better than others. I can't ignore scent and don't think you have to, but scent is very individual anyway. > I just want to be left > alone [didn't somebody else say that?] and can I out it on Winnie [my > sharpei] > Than you all.Patricia Whatever you choose make sure that you use something safe to lick/eat- as dogs do. Many people soak/spray a doggie bandana with a safe repellant blend and use that (loosely tied) instead of applying directly to the dog.
