Morning!

I've been trying to make at least 1 small(read: 4 bars) batch of soap

each day,

learning just what will work the best for me, and what I'm wanting

to achieve.

The soaps have so-far, all been good textured--

good smelling--

good everything

---cept they're 'butt-ugly'.

I've found there's definately a learning curve to soap-making!

I started out with a few CP batches, and found I'm just too

impatient to wait-out the cure time, so I've switched to HP.

I've tried every method and have

settled on my version of a double-boiler on the stove-top.

Well--yesterday I finally hit paydirt! I used sodium lactate--

and finally have soaps that are 'worthy' of being retailed!!!

The 'butt-ugly' ones will be used as gifts for a large ceremony

this summer (why I started this to begin with..) and hubby and

I have thought up cute little catch-frases

to wrap them with--so none will go to waste--but I just had

to share my excitement!

Although I havn't used any -cept what's in the pot, etc durring

clean up--some of the ones I think smell the best are the ones

I put finely, fresh-ground camomile in, just before I poured

it (or, 'plop' as the case may be).

...wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Looks like you are well on your way to being a soapaholic! Just a little

warning though. Even in HP your ground chamomile flowers may turn dark or black

over time..it's the nature of the soap. The only flower I have found that

retains its color in soap is Calendula. But glad to have another budding

soapaholic in our group!
