Guest guest
Hey folks, Nikie and I are working together on the following pre-buy for decyl polyglucose. Don't miss out ... *Smile* Chris (list mom - busy working on all of the red salt and heli orders and not poking my head up much except to breathe http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you to the list owners and moderators for allowing this prebuy. They are in no way responsible for the outcome. Any questions should be directed to prebuy . We are more than halfway there in meeting the minimum on this prebuy. Invoices will start going out next week. As soon as all payments are in, we will be ordering the Polyglucose. You may be asking, what is Decyl Polyglucose? Well, read on to find out about this wonderful natural surfactant - Decyl Polyglucose (INCI - Decyl Glucoside) is a mild non-ionic surfactant composed of sugar (glucose) derived from corn starch and fatty alcohols (decanol) derived from coconuts. It is soluble in water, with a ph factor of 5-6 (as is). Corn supplies the carbohydrates which are converted with fatty alcohols from native oils, such as coconut or palm kernel oil, into alkyl polyglycosides. Decyl polyglucose is a fatty polyglycoside prepared by reacting cornstarch glucose with natural fatty alcohol. Decyl Polyglucose is considered to be part of a new generation of surfactants. In Europe, where the worlds strictest cosmetic regulations are in place under the EU Cosmetics Directive, the demand for the alkyl polyglucosides increased by 400% in the space of four years. It is a nonionic surfactant derived from corn and vegetable glycerin sugars. It is readily biodegradable, is an effective, gently cleaner, extremely mild, performs well in hard water conditions, low in toxicity and clinical tests have shown it to be non irritating, even at high concentrations and extended exposure. It is an exceptionally mild co-surfactant compatible with all types of surfactants (also useful as primary surfactant), foam stabilizer, low defatting but good wetting properties and improves the conditioning effect of cationic surfactants. Polyglucose exhibits all of the mildness traits of nonionics, with the foam of an anionic. It is this unique characteristic that enables it to be utilized as both a primary and co-surfactant in formulations. Many companies with a natural focus to their formulations are now turning to Polyglucose as their primary, and in some cases only, surfactant. It is so mild that it doesn't require blending with any of the mildness additives. Many companies with a natural focus are now using decyl polyglucose as their primary, and in some cases only, surfactant. Decyl polyglucose can be used in shampoos, body washes, bubble baths, creams, hand soaps, baby products, hair conditioners, cleansing lotions, cream rinses, eye makeup removers, etc,. from as little as 1% to using it fully at 100%. Even used at a minimum, it can help give your liquid soaps a boost to turn your shower gel into a bubble bath! It can also be used in place of Sodium Laurel Sulfoaceotate in the making of Foaming Bath Bombs or anything that you would use SLS or SLSa. This comes in a liquid form and will be sold by the pound, 8lb and 40lb sizes. This prebuy will stay open until the minimum has been met. Once the minimum has been reached, we will send out invoices. It looks like we can get 8lbs in the Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping boxes. Anything that doesn't fit in the flat rate boxes will go FedEx Ground. MSDS Sheet available upon request. Pricing is as follows: 1 pound - $6.75 8 pounds - $46.00 ($5.75/lb) 40 pounds - $190.00 ($4.75/lb) I accept Money Orders/Checks/Mastercard/Visa/Discover/American Express and Paypal. Guest guest
HI Evemary, I tried it in my salt scrubs last night at 1% and it worked great!!! Rinsed off clean and my hands felt great! I also put some in my Whipped Shea at .5% and it was also nice. It made a nice cream. I put it all over my face and again, once water was applied, and I used cold water to see how easily it dispersed, it rinsed away great without an oily residue and my skin still kept the softness of the shea and the other oils I use! I've been playing with it in my foaming bath bombs but still trying to work out the percentages. As long as you keep your dry to wet ratio they do get hard. I was using very little decyl and I got a nice foam, but I haven't gotten it to bubble like I want it to. I was also using it .4oz of Decyl to 2lbs of dry base and 2.6oz of oils. Usually I add 10oz of SLS. So, I'm going to up my Decyl and base and see if I can't get this to bubble like I want it to. We are checking into getting it in powdered form!! If you want to order, you can go to my site at http://www.aftertherayne.com/supplies.htm and click on the Decyl Prebuy link.
