Thanks for your response, Butch. I didn't realize that the steam inhalation

method would be just as effective for sore throats as gargling. I will try it

next time and see what happens.

For the purists sea salt is best .. at least that's what folks in this

industry push. But for hundreds of years folks used salt where they

could find it .. and apparently it worked for sore throats .. to some

degree .. cause it hung in there over the generations.

What I quoted was not results of any research .. twas the opinion of the

doctor person in Los Angeles.

Maybe .. but it wasn't the formulation of a gargle that I wrote of ..

twas the physical act of gargling. Folks can do as they please but I

choose to not gargle.
