Morning!

....Ien asked about Rodies or Azalias for our gardens--heck, I've been

told they're some of the first ones to go!

I have been looking at some small rodies for next to the house--

figured if I made a pepper spray, and douced them good with that

following each rain, I might be able to actually have some 'color'

that won't be eaten.

I was given mass amounts of Iris's, which the deer won't touch--they

didn't bloom last year (as they were freshly planted) but it was very

nice to look out the windows and see something other than dirt, or

tree trunks...<grin>

I'd like to have some lavender in a container on our deck somehow--

I'm thinking that will be the only way to have some nice herbs to use

in soaps.

BTW--I've made several small batches of soap now--the first 2 were

CP, then I tried some HP--on the stove-top (double boiler-system) and

then just switched to using my micro yesterday! MAN does that go

FAST! Hubby called at one crucial point, and as I reached for the

phone with 1 hand, I watched the soap go everywhere in the micro as

it climbed out over the top of the pot--ARGH--what a mess!

I do have a question on HP soaps for anyone who makes them--they seem

to stay alot softer than my CP soaps--I know I've cooked them long

emough--there's no 'zap' on my tounge--and I purposely cooked 2

batches longer than the 'vasaline' stage--to the 'dry mashed potato'

stage--and the soap is still softer! Anyone know what's up with this?

Also, is anyone on a good soap group that they care to recommend?

Oh--1 last question--my daughter who works for Microsoft, has to go

to Redmond WA on Thurs for training on Fri, and wants me to come

along--are there any good places in the area to ck out?

thanks!

Melodee (goody)
