There is actually a website devoted to this........... bookcrossing.com, If you have trouble finding it, I will see if I can find the url for you Alison _www.covingtonrmt.com_ (http://www.covingtonrmt.com/)
Guest guest
I got this weird Idea today. First a little background. I love books. I buy books. Husband screams when I buy books. I ignore husband. I read a book too darn fast, most books in two to four hours. I buy more books. Husband screams some more. His screams are piercing my eardrums... I get sneaky... I go out, I buy a book, I read the book. Book all done boo-hoo. What do I do now with book. I love books. I don't burn them, or throw them away. House filled with books. Getting hard to stash books in unnoticable places as they are filled. So. Now I leave books on tables at Starbucks, tables in the food court, everywhere there is a table. Today I left a book on Starbucks table and went to the car and starting wondering... who picks up these books? Do people read them? Do they enjoy them? What do they do with them after they are read... then I got the idea... What if the next time I dumped a book, I put in a " traveling book blurb " ? LOL Husband wanted to know why I couldn't go to the library... mostly because I suck up a library quicker than they can supply new books. By the time they get in the new one, I've already read them dry and dumped them ;-) bad me! Bad Bad ME! Cheers! Guest guest
There is a place to let people know what you addiction is...it is bookcrossing.com. They have a web page and they leave books all over the place for people to read. From the laundromat to a rest area to a coffee shop. You should check it out. They also have people who leave books for others to pick up. Kathy > [Original Message] > Woobey Queen <WoobeyQueen > > 5/2/2005 7:56:42 PM > Weird Idea/Ot > > > I got this weird Idea today. Guest guest
Not so weird. I do it too. I do it thru bookcrossing.com People will sometimes log on and tell you where they found your book, what they did with it, etc. It's interesting. Course sometimes I just leave them without doing bookcrossing. Thanks for the reminder - off to see how many I can set free! Judy Books just wanna be FREE! Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me to re- to book crossing! I have been collecting books since I was 7. I have actually decided that some of my books are now clutter. I will never re-read them and I may not even like them anymore. But I can no more put a book in the garbage than a kitten. It doesn't make much sense to put Le Pere Goriot by the curb or wherever in Nakusp. Next time we're in a larger center. Start sorting! FlyLady would be proud...
