Sorry I haven't been around. Friday night I had to take my 17 year old cat

in to be euthanized. He had had what is called a saddle back Thrombosis.

Basically a " cat heart attack " . He had a blood clot lodged in his spine and

it was exceedingly painful. I had to take him to the vet and do the " dirty

deed " .

He had a good and busy life. Got him in Sweden, went with me to England and

then to here. Better traveled than most folk ;-)

Anyway, that's why I haven't been around. Pumpkin was bad, this was worse.

Will catch up with the mail today.

I'm so sorry, I had a 17 year old cat that I had to eurhanize last

summer. It was sooo had to let him go... he was in germany twice and

traveled around the states with me. Not bad for a cat that hated

traveling. It's so hard to say goodbye, no matter how old they are.

Big hugs to you.

Dear Kathleen,

I'm sorry to hear about your baby cat. It's so hard to loose your

babies. I think of my cats as little people with fur coats who bring us joy,

love, happiness, and a lot bovine excretment to clean up. (Now Laugh and

smile and think of your baby with wonderful thoughts.) You're in my prayers.

Love,

Rhavda

Dear Kathleen,

Being a cat person myself, I feel sad for you. " -( Losing a pet is just

like losing a child, sometimes. I don't think I've told my favorite cat

story here, but some of you may have heard it before. When we lived in

Seattle, our oldest yellow tabby succumbed after living for almost 17 years.

He was huge (25 lbs. in his prime) and was the king of the neighborhood.

Always in fights; his vet bill rivaled the national debt (also smaller

then), and he had indeed used up all 9 of his lives. When he passed, we

decided to bury him in the yard. Youngest daughter, Rachel, Rob and I

covered him with lavender and rose petals and carried him down the stairs to

the back yard . . . I looked behind us and every cat from the neighborhood

fell in solemnly behind, making a procession of about 6-8 or so cats and us.

They all sat quietly around the grave while we said our goodbyes and filled

in the hole we had dug very deep. Then they all followed us back up the

stairs and quietly went their separate ways. We wondered for days whether

they were just *curious* :-)), but I think there was a sense of loss or

something else that was going on. One of our favorite strange and moving

moments in life.

Bless your kitty and bless our long-gone Diver (named for the first Dragon

of Pern).

Be well,

Dear Kathleen,

So sorry to read your sad news. My heart goes out to you.

How we love our pets. I'm also behind, have been having computer problems, hope

now I can start catching up.

Woobey Queen:

Sorry to hear about your cat. I went through this a year or so ago with my

red/white cocker spaniel. Had a terrible time adjusting but now have a

black cocker whose name is 'Little Bit' cuz she has a little white under her

chin. Just hope I live long enough to really enjoy her. Hope another fur

friend can sneak into your life!!!

Blessings and love,

Effie

Hi, I'm new here but your message caught my eye. I've a cat that has

lymphoma and was trawling through the to find an

alternative to chemotherapy when I came by this group.

I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I've 7 so I can relate to losing one

of them.
