Guest guest
Have a friend with 2 boys with itchy flaky scalps (says it is pretty thick). So, does anyone out there have a remedy for this. She has tried dandruff shampoos and is currently using a shampoo with TeaTree in it. Thanks, Juliet

Serra I had to buy this for my son, he is 16. He says it smells nasty but it is working, his head no longer itches. Also Actrol by Matrix works very well, and smells better the pine tar, actually i think it is coal tar that is in the Neutrogena one. Guest guest
Hi Julia, Maybe have them try scalp massage using karanja oil or a karanja/jojoba oil blend, to kick-start things. It might even be worth a try to incorporate a bit of karanja oil into the shampoo they are currently using, for ongoing treatment and maintenance. That's what I would do, anyway. Guest guest
That could very well be, Rahnny, but I do know it works well even tho it's very spendy. My Honey uses a pine tar soap I got in a swap and is starting to try to find me some so I can make it too. Guest guest
A skin problem is usually a symptom of an imbalance deeper in the body. What else is happening for those boys? Could they suffer from a lack of the right essential fatty acids? And last but not least, how does one wash a fat lazy old cat in anti-dandruff soap? Guest guest
Thanks to everyone for the recommendations. I got some pine tar yesterday and will make some soap today with that and a few EO's (maybe they will help the smell too! LOL!) If you are looking for Pine Tar, they should have it at your local feed store. Up here in Alaska, it was $4.50 for a pint.
