Guest guest
Hi Juliet, Either or ... usually I'll make up a bit extra when I make up the initial batch for a first aid need. I almost always have an aloe vera leaf in the fridge, and those oils on hand ... I have little ones and also do a lot of cooking and baking and stuff .. so yep, it sure does come in handy *Smile* Chris (list mom) Perfume Bottles and Pendants On Sale Through Earth Day (Or While Supplies Last) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Do you keep this blend mixed up and stored in the fridge, Or do you mix it fresh as needed? My eldest daughter tends to burn herself on a regular basis. LOL Juliet
Guest guest
> >Chris, how long does fresh Aloe last for in the fridge? > Thanks > Carol Hi Carol, Fresh gel is very best because many of the active ingredients in aloe gel tends to deteriorate quickly , but I have found that if a leaf breaks off the aloe plant, just wrap it in Saran Wrap and put it in the fridge. It lasts for a good long time as opposed to if the gel has been scraped out of the leaf. Whatever I have left over from a small batch of first aid burn remedy I'll just pop into a small little covered jar and put in the fridge - but I don't count on that keeping for very long. I never keep out of the leaf aloe gel around for long, and there really is no reason to, as it is so good for the skin, not just for burns, so its easily used up Just an FYI - the aloe gels found in the stores on the shelf are pasteurized and contain additives and preservatives. *Smile* Chris (list mom) Perfume Bottles and Pendants On Sale Through Earth Day (Or While Supplies Last) <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Hi Chris, My cat managed to trash my big aloe plant, so I took the leaves and froze them, just as is, and I cut off a little bit and let it thaw out - its working well, Aloe gel is great stuff - and not just for burns. I had a cat land on the electrical element on the stove, and burn rings into his belly - I covered it in fresh gel,and took him to the vet the next day, and the vet stated it was almost totally healed - mary Well, Naturally At 04:25 PM 4/6/2005, you wrote: > > > >Chris, how long does fresh Aloe last for in the fridge? > > Thanks > > Carol > >Hi Carol, > >Fresh gel is very best because many of the active ingredients in aloe >gel tends to deteriorate quickly , but I have found that if a leaf >breaks off the aloe plant, just wrap it in Saran Wrap and put it in the >fridge.
