Guest guest
A traditional, old fashioned, cough syrup recipe ... *Smile* Chris (list mom) Don't Miss Out On Our Orsa Pink " Real " Salt Special http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Red clover (Trifolium pratense) is an expectorant and anti-spasmodic especially good for children (over the age of 2) with whooping cough. Red Clover Cough Syrup You'll need 1 c. red clover blossoms (be sure they haven't been sprayed with pesticides or chemicals of any kind). Place them into an earthenware, glass or enamel pot and add 2 c. boiling water. Cover the vessel, steep until cool. Strain. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with the liquid (local is preferred). Take 1 teaspoonful as needed. Store in the refrigerator for up to several months. (Variation: if desired - half the amount of red clover in the above recipe can be substituted with plantain (Plantago major) which is an expectorant and demulcent) This recipe is not to be construed as medical advice or prescriptions for illness.......
