Deat Barbara,

I have no idea if oak moss is good in soaps. I only use in it in

making infused oils for healing formulas and perfumery. I think that

some of

the soapers need to answer your question on this. I just go outside my

home

after a storm and pick up a lot of branches covered with oak moss. Bring

them in and let them dry for a few days and then scrap off the oak moss

into

a jar until I need it for my infusions. Oak moss has a nice earthy

smell. It

is great in perfumery and in herbal formulas. It will take the edge off

a

sharp smelling perfume and soften it greatly. It is good for vein

interigity

and varicose veins among its uses. However, unless the co-op has a

really

good price on it, I would be leary because oak moss is labor intensive

to

get. It takes several hours of scraping the oak moss off of many tree

limbs

to get an amount worth infusing. I have been making oak moss infused oil

since about 1992 when we had problems getting oak moss absolute from

Croatia. Needless to say I am now spoiled by American made oak moss

infused

oil which has a wonderful soft smell rather than the harsher smell of

the

more expensive oak moss absolute.

Good luck and if you need to email me privately, then do so.
