Guest guest
Hi everyone: It has been awhile again but I am catching up on the posts I am into February now. My brother just called me with some news. He had gone in for back surgery about 6 months ago and it seemed all went well. But as his luck always turns out, they found that there were fragments left behind and another disk went out. Recomendation from the quacks...opps sorry doctors was another operation. I choked back tears as I talked to him when he called with that news. I begged him not to do it, try and find another way to manage the pain. But he would not hear of it. So yesterday I got a phone call from my brother. He was out on the street in a wheelchair and says he will be for the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He was out on the street because his wife went shopping and the car could not accomodate his wheelchair. We cried together and of course I did not say I told you so. But now I am wondering if anyone can recommend any lotion or after surgery potion that will help him heal and give some releif of any pain he does have. He says he can stand to do dishes but then his legs go numb if he stands too long. So how bad is it really? I can not say. If we lived closer it would be easier for me to see and feel. He has always been a bit of a hypocondriac so I can not trust what I hear. But I figure I would try and help as much as I can to speed up recovery. So If you have something please let me know, all thoughts are good at this point. Thanks for the help Barbara
Guest guest
He may not hear of it, but I highly recommend getting Reiki to help with the pain. In the beginning he may need daily treatments and then gradually decrease. This in combination with some EO to help relax him will help his pain. I have performed Reiki on a lady who had disc problems in her back and she said the treatments helped her. Its a thought. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I'm sorry to read of your brothers situation. Geeeze, it's so frustrating to just allow people to make choices when you know it's not the best for them. My heart goes out to you, to your brother, and to all concerned. It sounds as though he's probably not too open to alternatives and my guess is that he's been prescribed meds for pain control and more. So, I hesitate to make suggestions. There are certainly some great things out there for him though. I agree with Michele on the Reiki, and he would also benefit from Arnica Montana and L-Arginine. My highest recommendation would be to change his thinking and to utilize the body/mind connection. Visualization is powerful and I personally find positive thoughts to be the best " medicine " . But, it doesn't seem likely that he's open. I guess you just have to surrender to the path he has chosen, and say lots of prayers for him. Blessings to you all, Michelle
Guest guest
A friend of mine who had several back surgeries said she experienced great relief from......WATER!! Add 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of good whole seasalt, like Celtic Sea salt, to it. Unrefined Sea Salt is a very different substance from the chemical sodium chloride. Some people add fresh lemon juice as well for a restorative electrolyte solution. Speed up recovery with nutrient-dense whole foods and juices. Good luck!
