Interesting that you should chose Houston to be the second level of

Hell, my question is why? I am a native Dallasite which means that I am also

a native Texan. Dallasites don't get along with the people from Houston but

that is supposed to be our feud. When did everyone else start getting

involved? So I've got to take up a little for Houston. It really is a nice

place that you would like to not have to visit. On the few times that I've

gone there it has been short and sweet and quick to leave. We got lost

several years ago on the main Houston Freeway and we felt like we were the

man who got lost on the Boston Subway (MTA) song many years ago. We kept

going and going and going with no way to get off until we were at the

outskirts of Galveston.

The feud between Dallas and Houston has been going on for over a 100

years now and probably will not ever cease. We still give the people from

Houston what for and they give us the same treatment. We gave a girl friend

a funeral party several years ago when she married a man who had been

transferred to Houston. That was a great wake!

Now for Houston's defense - It really is a beautiful place away from

the downtown. The suburbs are very nice and well kept. Houston got smart and

annexed enough land to keep it growing. It has Rice University and several

others that I can't name. It has a 6 Flags over Houston Amusement Park as we

have in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. (We know that because they advertise on

TV here and I'm sure we do the same down in Houston.) I'm sure that they

also have theatre and other cultural events but I would have to get a

Houston paper to tell you what they do have. The one thing that I do not

like about Houston is how muggy it is there and the second thing that I

don't like is their traffic situation. Dallas freeways can be the pits but

Houston's freeways just sit and sit and sit and don't move. The people,

however, contrary to public opinion from some on this list can be very nice.

They now have Chris so that's to their advantage. With a few more people

like Chris there is hope for changes in Houston. Every city in Texas has its

opinionated people who like to express their opinions and do so regardless

of what others may think. In a way that is good because we need people like

that to help us clarify what we think. Maybe if more people were opinionated

then we could see some changes in the way our government is run - i.e. maybe

more people would get out to vote and really make a difference in politics,

but that's another subject for another time, another email.

As for Colorado, I have only visited there twice. It appears to be a

nice place to visit with a lot of ex-Texans and people from California, but

I have to take Texas. We still have our wide-open spaces with plenty of room

to grow and people. By car it can take several days to cross. We have

beautiful scenry and some nice people so don't judge everyone by the people

in Houston ;-D, personal bias because of our long-standing Dallas-Houston

feud. May it never end so that we can continue to poke fun at each other and

then rush to the other's defense if things really get bad. Texas is like a

big family. We have our fights, fusses, and feuds among our different areas

of the state but when we need to we will come to the defense of that area

just as we would for the defense of someone else on this list or for our family.

Take care and have a great and wonderful weekend! We are going to be

85 degrees today, sunny, clear and no humidity like Houston (Thank God!).

(Couldn't resist that final jab.;-D) I'm back to planting more helichrysum,

melissa, and roses this year. Harvest will be in May and in September.
