Guest guest
Hehehe, my ears were burning I'm not in Houston proper, I'm in the southwest suburb known as Sugar Land. Its nice here, just HOT in the summer, but winter is awesome here! While folks around the country are dealing with cold and snow, I'm enjoying 70 degree days (today we have sunny skies). I have roses in bloom in February and a thriving herb garden too Colorado was nice in many ways too - its getting very expensive though Cost of living sky rocketed there through the 90's and into the 21st century! Touching on Butch calling it " New California " - the Colorado folks I know do blame it on the state getting taken over by California aliens *lol* What really was H - E double hockey sticks was living in NYC. I was born there, lived there most of my life, have many memories there, have many friends and family there, and yes, there are really cool things about it, but I'd never live there again for more reasons than I can count on my fingers and toes Although I'm in no rush to move again any time soon, one of these days I'd like to check out the Pacific Northwest area ... *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Butch Owen [butchbsi] Hey Karen .. I'd live in ANY city in Texas rather than in or around one of the larger cities of New California (Colorado). Y'all keep smiling. ;-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com >>Hey Karen, >> >>Chris the List mom. Guest guest
Phtttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!! Yes old fumble finges struck again... I DID mean Colorado, but the fingers typed Ca. Bad fingers! bad Bad BAD fingers! I know a LOT of folk love Texas... Too hot, Too dry, Too humid, Too hurricanney, Too tornadoey. Texas is jut " TOO " for this gal. I'd take Colorado and parts of Ca over any part of Texas any day. Course there are parts in other states (and whole states) that I'd choose over both of them... ain't it great, we got 50 states to choose from! ROFL! Cheers! Guest guest
Hey Chris, I am glad you like Texas. I am sure not having to deal with the snow and cold are great. I am getting tired of them myself. I would like to go somewhere where things don't turn brown and ugly in the winter. I love green! It gets very depressing. Spring and fall are my favorite times of the year. It has been HOT here the last 3 - 4 summers, very unusual. Might as well have beautiful weather in the winter if we have to deal with HOT in the summer. I have been to Texas twice. Stephensville and Hico, then on to San Antonio. Texas is a BIG state, doesn't look so big on the map!! But to drive from Hico to San Antonio, what a trip! Did pass thru some beautiful country tho. Yes, Colorado is getting very expensive to buy and live. We are growing very fast, too fast. I don't like it, wish I could hang out a NO VACANCY sign, but guess that isn't very nice. It IS turning into the New California. They move here for the country and green pastures, but then try and run the cows off because they stink! Duh, why did you move next the dairy farm or feed lot? And want to make the green pastures into housing developments. Just don't understand those city ways! Been in the country all my life and I love it. I have not been to NYC yet. My son and step son have. My DS really liked it, but of course he was only there a week, my DSS is planning on going to Columbia. He likes NY. I have only met one couple from NYC, they were pretty quiet until they overheard our conversation about different mustards then they were our long lost friends from then on. Really enjoyed their company. Had a New Jersey gal as an aerobics instuctor once, she was funny. Loved her accent. Butch I hear you on the larger cities, me neither. Like the country way too much.
