Guest guest
Saturday we had family in..while they were here we had a telemarketing call. The marketer was definetely from either India or Pakistan. She was about halfway through her first sentence when I asked, " pardon me...PARDON ME..Are you personally located within the continental United States? " ...she HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, will keep trying this tactic...that is if I answer the phone at all. Will see if it works again, or if she was just so shocked that she hung up. I might even go so far as to tell them (if they answer " No " ), that I will not ever do business with a company that uses foreign telemarketers. I'm not nieve, I know that just one person doing this will not make a difference. Especially since the marketer just puts down that phone was answered, or contact made or whatever, but maybe if enough people do it...the bosses, or company MAY find out that we: 1. Don't like foreign telemarketers!!!!! 2. We don't like telemarketers at all! For those of you who don't live in the US, don't know if you have much trouble with marketers, but if you do, you might insert your country where I said United States. Hugs to all~ Anita
Guest guest
I put my # on the national do not call list. The only telemarketers we get now is for charity people which I don't mind giving to when I can but they call every month and I can't afford to give them anything! I have 4 kids of my own that have wishes and I can't even grant it to them! Very frustraiting!!! Steph > > Saturday we had family in..while they were here we had a telemarketing > call. Guest guest
Anita, I am with you, I hate telemarketers too... However , it's almost rare to have a credit card or buy a computer to not get someone in a foreign country to answer your calls. Now, I feel a bit sheepish here, for I am foreign born , have an accent and should shut my mouth... BUT, one accent talking to another accent does not work, it's a comic routine... So, if it's an annoying telemarketer, I just talk straight German back to whatever they say to me. They hang up pretty fast that way. Guest guest
C-M I know you are foreign born, it is just that I KNOW they aren't in the US calling me...if I were more fluent in Spanish(the only other language I know, and know just enough to get me in trouble), I would do as you do<grin>. Usually I just hang up, like I did not just a minute ago. Anita Anita, I am with you, I hate telemarketers too...
